AU Small Finance Bank Strengthens Public Safety in Uttar Pradesh with Installation of Police Booths Across Key Cities

Lucknow |  In a significant step toward enhancing public safety and supporting community welfare, AU Small Finance Bank (AU SFB) — India’s largest small finance bank — has extended its commitment to social responsibility by facilitating the establishment of six police booths at major locations across five prominent religious and cultural cities of Uttar Pradesh — Lucknow, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Varanasi.

The initiative aims to strengthen public security, support traffic management, and assist the large influx of devotees and tourists visiting these spiritual and heritage-rich cities from across India and abroad. The strategically located booths will act as key centers for emergency response, public guidance, and visitor assistance.

This milestone comes as AU Small Finance Bank recently received in-principle approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to transition into a universal bank, underscoring its growing national footprint and commitment to inclusive development.

Locations of the newly established police booths include:

  • Lete Wale Hanuman Ji Temple, Prayagraj: Situated near the historic Sangam area, this booth will play a crucial role in crowd management during the Kumbh and Magh Melas.
  • Hanuman Setu Temple, Lucknow: Located near the Gomti River and Lucknow University, this booth will ensure smooth movement and safety during major festivities.
  • Shri Hanuman Garhi Temple Complex, Ayodhya: Positioned along the Ram Mandir route, it will help manage heavy traffic and maintain public order.
  • ISKCON Temple Main Entrance, Kanpur: Catering to large gatherings of domestic and international visitors, this booth will provide essential security and assistance services.
  • Sankat Mochan Temple, Varanasi: At one of Varanasi’s most revered temples, the booth will aid in traffic regulation, festival security, and crowd control.
  • Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi (to be established soon): The upcoming booth at this iconic spiritual site will further enhance safety and enrich the visitor experience.

Speaking on the initiative, an AU SFB spokesperson said the project reflects the bank’s mission to promote safety, inclusivity, and progress across the nation. “By partnering with local authorities in cities that attract millions of pilgrims and tourists, AU Small Finance Bank aims to ensure that faith and safety go hand in hand,” the statement read.

Through such community-driven initiatives, AU Small Finance Bank continues to redefine the role of responsible banking — one that extends beyond finance to touch lives and build safer, stronger communities.
